Webinar Content

Once you’ve done the hard work of creating, promoting, and running a webinar, it’s easy to think you’re done.

And this can feel like a bit of a letdown – even if your webinar brought in lots of new customers for your business. What about all that preparation you put in and all those slides you carefully crafted?

Here’s the good news: none of that work is wasted. There are loads of ways you can recycle your webinar content – making the most of your hard work for weeks, months, and even years to come.

1. Offer a Recording to People Who Couldn’t Make It Live

One of the simplest ways to repurpose your webinar content is to offer a recording, essentially turning it into an on-demand webinar. You may well already have this as an option for people who sign up but can’t make it live – either due to the timing or because your webinar was full when they tried to join.

To make the recording even more useful, use webinar software that lets you add chapters to your recording so that viewers can easily jump to the information they’re most interested in.

2. Recap the Webinar on Your Blog

Stuck for ideas for your blog? Repurpose your webinar by blogging about it: you could share key takeaways, great questions and answers, or important tips or facts that you covered during the webinar.

You don’t necessarily have to recap the whole webinar in a single blog post. Instead, you might want to run a series of posts looking at different highlights from the webinar. This can be a great way not just to reach people in your audience who didn’t attend, but also to remind those who did attend about everything they learned in the webinar.

3. Create a Highlight Video – or Several Videos

It’s often hard for people to find the time or motivation to sit down and watch a whole webinar recording. Make it easy for them by creating a highlight video that pulls out the key points from your webinar into a snappy 5 or 10 minutes. If you have lots of great content to share, you might create a series of highlight videos.

These can be easily shared on social media, embedded in blog posts, or linked to within your email newsletter. If people like what they see, this may well boost your webinar attendance next time!

4. Get Your Webinar Transcribed

One drawback to webinars is that they’re not fully accessible for everyone. Having your webinar transcribed – or having subtitles added to the recording – means that deaf and hard-of-hearing audience members can access your content too.

Transcriptions are also great for your search engine optimization, as they give Google (and other search engines) much more to go on than a short description would.

5. Publish Your Slides on Slideshare

Spent hours creating the perfect slide deck? Show it off to the world by putting it on Slideshare. This makes it easy to link to and share – plus it means your slide can be accessed again by attendees who want a refresher.

Before uploading your slides, it’s a good idea to have a quick look through them again to make sure they all make sense out of context in the webinar. Some slides might need removing or adjusting so they flow as smoothly as possible.

6. Create a Q&A Blog Post

Hopefully, you had plenty of great questions from audience members during your webinar. You may not have had time to answer all of them live – or you might have needed to give quite brief answers. Creating a blog post to go through these questions lets you answer more questions, more fully.

This type of post is useful for everyone in your audience, whether or not they attended your webinar. You might want to reach out personally to the people who raised the questions, letting them know that you’ve blogged about their question in more detail, which is a great way to deepen the connection you’ve already made.

7. Use Popular Questions or Tips on Social Media

What questions come up repeatedly from audience members? Was there a specific tip you shared that everyone found really useful – or a fact that surprised your audience?

Use short social media posts to share some of these little tidbits with your wider audience. This is a great way to promote your webinar recording or other content, plus it gives you extra social media content without you having to do much extra work at all.

8. Share Data if You Ran a Poll

Did you run a poll during your webinar? You might want to share the data with your audience, either on your blog or through social media. For instance, maybe you found out that 80% of your webinar attendees struggle with time management. That could be something that your audience would find comforting, as it lets them know that lots of people have the same problems they do.

Maybe a surprising feature of your product was voted the most popular. Sharing this finding with your audience could prompt them to give your product a try, as they may not have previously realized how useful that feature was.

Recycling your webinar content helps you make the most of all your hard work. It’s a great way to fill slots on your content calendar – and to engage with your audience members, whether or not they attended the live webinar.

This week, go back to your last webinar and look for at least one way you could repurpose some of the content.

Due to intense competition among businesses, entrepreneurs make extensive efforts to make their brands stand out; Which is why many of them do various marketing tactics, such as hosting webinars. By conducting this type of event, you can increase brand recognition, attract more prospects, and generate a high income.

One of the widely used types of webinars is the automated webinar. Based on stealthseminar.com, a leading automated webinar platform, this type of content can give you so many advantages. So, if you want to get reasons to start hosting them, keep reading this blog.

What is Webinar Automation?

Webinar automation is the process of creating pre-recorded presentations and hosting them through automated webinar platforms. Unlike live webinars, automated webinars will not require the presence of a host every time you repurpose the content. They will automatically run on your chosen schedule. You can use this type of webinar for your online training, product introduction, company overviews, or to provide good content to your target audience.

Why Should You Start Hosting Automated Webinars?

In case you haven’t seen how webinar automation can contribute to your business success, here are the top reasons why you should start hosting automated webinars:

1.    You don’t have to be around.

Again, when you schedule a pre-recorded webinar, you don’t have to be there. You only need to create a recording once, and you can use that content as often as you like, compared to a live webinar that will need your presence. This advantage is pretty helpful, especially when you have other business matters to attend to, want plenty of quality time with your loved ones, or like to relax and do your hobbies.

2.    People can watch your content conveniently.

Unfortunately, not everyone in your target market has a flexible schedule. Even if you do your webinar live at the most convenient time and get many people to sign up on your registration page, there will still be others who will miss your event. On the other hand, if you host pre-recorded webinars, your target audiences can watch them in their free time conveniently. The more attendees you get, the higher the conversion rate you can achieve.

3.    You can make perfect content.

Since you won’t be speaking in real-time, you can re-shoot and edit mistakes as much as you need. Therefore, you can create flawless content that can keep your viewers engaged. It’s perfect to do, especially when you’re not confident speaking live. You won’t directly be talking in front of live audiences, and you can make your business look more professional.

4.    You can save money.

By creating great content and using the best automated webinar software, you can already do webinar automation and automate your income. You don’t need to keep investing in creating video recording, spending on the props, or hiring professionals to attract leads and get profit; You only need to set a schedule, and your webinar sessions can continuously serve their purpose.

5.    You can build customer relationships.

When you make educational content more accessible for your viewers, you don’t only generate quality prospects; You also enhance your relationship with tour existing clients and keep them loyal. As long as the content you create is valuable and successful, your attendees will keep engaged.

Automated Webinar Tips

Despite the popularity and proven effectiveness of automated webinars, these online events won’t be effective unless you do them successfully. So before you conduct your first automated webinar presentation, consider the following tips:

Choose a good topic.

If you keep using a pre-recorded video, you need to make sure that the topic you’ll cover is timely relevant. Plus, it would be nice if you can avoid the trendy ones that will get less engaging as time passes.

Make a visually appealing presentation.

Whether you will record a video or create slides, you need to ensure that your content is visually appealing. More people will see your content as you keep repurposing it, and it can help you reach out to a larger audience. Thus, leave a great impact and brand reputation by only giving what’s best.

Follow-up on your attendees.

Even if you get a great number of webinar attendees, some of them might not turn into customers. Therefore, you need to follow up on them when they’re done watching your content and persuade them to finally convert.

Use the right webinar platform.

Not all platforms will let you host automated webinars. Even if there are many other automated webinar platforms there, you still need to be smart to only rely on one that is convenient to use and can help you meet your webinar goals. Stealthseminar is one of the leading platforms that can make your webinar automation seamless. If you want to achieve webinar success, you can count on us.

A few months back when cleaning out my invites, I saw a section on the “My Network” tab of the LinkedIn app called “Events.”

Well, it’s been a few months and much to my surprise, I haven’t seen anyone use these.

With thousands of adoring fans connections hanging on every word of my George R.R. Martin-esque agency-side publishing schedule (I swear, my follow-up to “Benjamin Franklin—The Father of Content Marketing?” is coming), I would expect at least one person to send me a webcast invite.

But no. No webcasts. Not even an MLM pitch. Shocking.

At first, I had a moment of self-awareness. Maybe I have an inflated sense of self? No. That can’t be it. Every person pitching their guest blog loves “unspecified article.” Of course someone wants me at their event.

Well-Hidden and Barely Talked About: LinkedIn Events

So I did a bit of digging, only to find out that the ability to create a “LinkedIn Event” is well-hidden. Don’t believe me? Head over to LinkedIn and look at the left-hand column between “Groups” and “Followed Hashtags.” That’s the only place you’ll find the feature.

Where Can You Find the LinkedIn Events Tab?

Added to this, most search results will share how to promote an event on LinkedIn, but few are in place to discuss LinkedIn Events.

What Are LinkedIn Events?

Like Facebook’s events, LinkedIn Events are a way to connect in real life with others. Per LinkedIn:

The LinkedIn Events feature provides members with an easy way to create and join professional events that interest them. This feature helps grow active, professional communities by building authentic, face-to-face relationships. LinkedIn members can use the feature to connect online with other members so they can meet them offline in a professional capacity.

LinkedIn summed up this feature in minute-long video.

Notably, the fanfare is summed up perfectly too—at time of publish, the video has less than 2,000 views.

It’s a Reboot—If You Knew about it the First Time

Did you know that on November 26, 2012, LinkedIn shut down events? Neither did I. Apparently, LinkedIn Events version 1.0 launched in 2008, was quietly cancelled in 2012, and was just as “well-known” as it is today. LinkedIn-Makeover’s Donna Serdula summed up the 2012 cancellation perfectly:

“[…] there will be two reactions to this… There was a LinkedIn Events application? [or] NO WAY!!!!! I LOVED LINKEDIN EVENTS!”

From what I can tell, the initial edition was like cult classic TV shows Twin Peaks or The Tick, loved by an incredibly limited audience, cancelled before its time, and recently rebooted.

How-To: Create an Event on LinkedIn

So now that you learned that LinkedIn Events are a thing and what they are supposed to do, let’s dig into the ‘how.’ Before you get started, you will need to have the following information.

  • Logo Image (1:1 Aspect Ratio, 400px x 400px)
  • Cover Image (4:1 Aspect Ratio, 1776px x 444px)
  • Event Name (Required)
  • Location (Required)
  • Venue Details
  • Date and Time, Time Zone
  • Description (Required)
  • Link to the Ticketing/Registration Website
  • Public Event or Private
    • Public: Anyone can view the event and choose to attend.
    • Private: Only invitees or people with the event link can view. Non-invitees need your approval to attend.

To show step-by-step instructions, I’ve volunteered to help our friends at the Construction Marketing Association to promote their 2020 Construction Marketing Outlook Webcast.

Desktop

Go to the LinkedIn Homepage. From the Interest panel on the left rail, click the Plus icon next to Events.

How to Create a LinkedIn Event

A “Create Event” overlay will appear. Fill out information.

Create a LinkedIn Event on Desktop

Click “Create.” You will be redirected to the event page. For more information, head down to the “promote a LinkedIn Event” section below.

Android and iOS Devices

In addition, you can just as easily create the event using an Android or iOS device. To create an event:

  1. Tap your profile picture in the home screen.
  2. In the panel that appears, scroll down to the Eventssection and tap  Create Event.
  3. In the pop-up window that appears, enter the required information in the fields provided.
  4. Tap CREATE.

A few notes. First, LinkedIn has mentioned that the functionality “is being rolled out” and you may not yet have access to this. Second, these events are created through your personal profile, though you can share the link to public events.

How-To: Manage and Promote Your LinkedIn Event

Once the event is created, you can see and access the event from the left side of the LinkedIn homepage.

How to Access Your Created LinkedIn Event

On the Event page, you have a variety of options to set your attendees for success.

Invite Attendees:

Privately invite your first-degree connections. Easily search by name or filter by company, location, industry, or school.

Share Your Event

From the Event page, you can easily share the event with your connections.

How to share your linkedin event with connections

Additionally, you can copy and paste the link and share this event using your company page or share to your groups.

Keep Attendees up to Date

Like Groups, you can post updates for attendees including links, posts, videos, and documents. Simply click “start a conversation in this event” and publish like you normally would.

Success in Social: Test and Improve

Whether you’re an event marketer or simply looking to promote your webcast, LinkedIn Events are just one of the many options you have to improve your social media engagement and outreach. Never stop testing and you’ll never stop improving.

One more note: Don’t get too spammy with LinkedIn Events. You know others will.

Have you noticed that everyone, every competitor, every business-to-business brand is doing webcasts or webinars? Webcasts must be the “killer marketing app”, but then you produce a webcast and 5 people register for it, and 2 show up.

Ok, perhaps some exaggeration, but for many marketers webcast success can be elusive. Which begs the question, how can webcasts be more effective? Answer: planning, execution, branding, promotion, and much more. How about a printable pdf of 57-Point Webcast Effectiveness Checklist more?

Before we get to that checklist, please consider that unless you are a celebrity, or your company is a Unicorn, your product/service might be boring? Yet webcasts are used by lots of boring companies and services. So how are they successful? Again, no silver bullets but do consider having a referenceable customer or client as a panelist on your webcast. Why? Because you are likely a vendor. Prospects often don’t want to hear from a vendor. Prospects are however, very interested in listening to their peers, or even competitors. In sum, panelist recruitment is critical to webcast success.

Next, please consider the topic, and specifically the title of your webcast. It must be interesting, even provocative. Do some A/B testing of titles via email or even Twitter. Compare title engagement, and move forward with the better, tested title.

Ok, so you have one or more panelists and an interesting title. Now all you need is a mountain of marketing, communications, and promotion. To maximize webcasts registrations, you also need time. That is, start the promotion cycle 60 days out from the webcast (longer if possible). But wait, before you start the “marketing machine” you will need the panelist(s), topic/title, and other tactical items like a webcast registration page, a news announcement, possibly a website banner or call-to-action (CTA), and more. Please do not attempt to produce a webcast 2-weeks prior–it will really suck!

About that mountain of marketing, communications, and promotion—the most effective webcasts employ multiple marketing channels that will be identified in the 57-Point Webcast Effectiveness Checklist including a news announcement, blog, social media posts, email campaigns, directory listings, Pay-Per-Click (PPC), and more. So without further ado…

57 Webcast Checklist

Copy and paste the code below to add to your own website:

Webcast Success is Possible

Successful webcasts require a lot of work, much planning, and timely execution.

The promise of a successful webcast is a lot of registrations from often marketing qualified leads (MQLs), and potentially sales qualified leads (SQLs), along with the opportunity to reinforce your brand as a thought leader for the subject matter. And webcasts are the gift that keeps giving, with On-Demand video versions useable for YouTube channels, and website resources.

Avoid “sucking” by recruiting an interesting panelist, creating an interesting title, and marketing early and often using the printable pdf of 57-Point Webcast Effectiveness Checklist.
